PORCHLIGHT started as a solo exercise in cinematic lighting and self directed filmmaking. Shot entirely in the middle of the night using an ND filter on the iPhone 16 Pro Max, it became a full short film project showcasing low light control, scene composition, and grade consistency. It’s also the first visual piece to debut my new Blue Monday LUT, which was used to color grade the entire piece.

Shot using iPhone 16 Pro Max, ND filter, and custom rigging. Edited and color graded in Adobe Premiere Pro using the Blue Monday LUT.
OUTCOME
Originally intended as a practice session, PORCHLIGHT grew into a finished narrative short that exceeded expectations. It’s currently unreleased but will premiere on YouTube soon as both a creative milestone and LUT showcase.
